Satsuma Kiriko is cut glass originally produced by the Satsuma clan in the late Edo period. It features "cased glass," where colored glass is fused onto clear crystal glass (24-25% lead), then intricately cut and polished. It is renowned for its signature "bokashi" color gradations.
