When did these crafts start to craft?：500 years ago / 1500AD / Sengoku period in Japan
It is known that when Miyazaki Yuzensai, a popular fan painter in Kyoto, came to Kanazawa, he established and developed innovative designs to the kimono designs originally established in Kanazawa. Today, the free style and many colorful designs are loved by many people.
Since 1975, he has worked in Kyoto and Toyama prefectures, and is currently making Kaga yuzen in Ishikawa Prefecture. Yuzen is usually done by division of labor. However, the greatest feature of Kenzo Makino is that all processes from designing to finishing can be done consistently, and the skills and knowledge required are immeasurable. In addition to kimonos, the company offers a wide range of products such as art panels and necktie!.
"I want people to feel the changes of the four seasons in Japan through my dyed works."
With this in mind, I create small works of art in addition to kimonos to convey the beauty of Kaga Yuzen, which has a history of 500 years. The shades of color and the thickness and fineness of the lines convey the small gestures of nature in our daily lives.
Received the Bronze Prize three times at the Traditional Kaga Yuzen Craft Exhibition.
Received the Ishikawa Prefecture Governor's Prize at the Kaga Yuzen New Craft Exhibition
Designated as a traditional craftsman in 2008
He has received many other awards for their work.

Income for Craftsman: Craftsman get only less than 10% of selling price?
As written above, craftsman have not controlled last phase of sales channel that resulting in selling price is set by third-party without craftsman’s recognition. There are some cases that only less than 10% of selling price is given to craftsman. We promise with our customer / craftsman that we offer the fair trade with craftsmen in our contract!
We made an article about above problem and our challenge. Please have a read from below link.
