After studying bamboo crafts in Kyoto, she returned to her hometown in Chiba Prefecture to become a craftsman making Boshu Uchiwa fans. Since her childhood, she has felt the joy of making something with her hands, and of seeing, touching, and using her creations to bring joy to others.
