At Suigenkyo, we take immense pride in the exceptional quality of our traditional Japanese crafts. We want you to be entirely satisfied with your purchase.
Please review our comprehensive policy below regarding returns, exchanges, and cancellations.

14-Day Return Window

We offer a 14-day return policy. You have exactly 14 days after the date of receiving your item to request a return.

Return Eligibility & Conditions

To qualify for a return, your item must be returned in the exact same condition as received:

• Unworn, unused, unwashed, and unaltered.
• With all original tags, labels, and certificates attached.
• In its original, undamaged packaging (including presentation boxes for crafts).
• Accompanied by the original receipt or proof of purchase.

Returns Due to Personal Preference (Customer-Convenience)

We accept returns if you change your mind, if the size does not fit, or if the product differs from your aesthetic expectations. For these voluntary returns, please note:

• Return Shipping Costs: The customer is fully responsible for all international return shipping fees, customs duties, and taxes required to send the item back to Japan.
• Refunds: Once the item is received, inspected, and approved by our team, a refund will be issued automatically to your original method of payment. Original shipping fees are non-refundable.

Defective, Damaged, or Incorrect Items

Please inspect your order immediately upon arrival. In the unlikely event that the item is defective, damaged in transit, or incorrect, please contact us immediately at contact@suigenkyo.com.

• We will promptly evaluate the issue and arrange for a replacement, exchange, or full refund.
• For verified defects or errors on our part, Suigenkyo will fully cover all associated return shipping costs.

Non-Returnable Items & Exceptions

Due to the unique, artisanal nature of our traditional crafts, the following items cannot be returned, exchanged, or refunded:

• Custom-made or personalized products.
• Made-to-order (pre-order) items crafted specifically upon your request.
• Any item not in its original condition, or missing parts for reasons not due to our error.

Order Cancellations

• Standard Orders: We do not accept cancellations or modifications once an order has been confirmed and payment has been processed.
• Customs-Related Cancellations: At checkout, all customers must verify and agree to the following acknowledgment before placing an order: "I understand that import duties and taxes are not included in the total and may be collected by my local customs office upon delivery." As all purchases are completed with your explicit prior consent to this term, we absolutely do not accept any order cancellations, returns, or refunds due to a customer's refusal to pay local customs duties, import taxes, or VAT.
• One-of-a-Kind (Masterpiece) Inventory: Since many of our products are unique, one-of-a-kind masterpieces, an item may occasionally become unavailable due to simultaneous orders or system sync delays. In the rare event that a single-item product is out of stock, we reserve the right to cancel the order and will immediately issue a full refund. We sincerely appreciate your understanding.

For Customers in the European Union (EU) / European Economic Area (EEA)

In accordance with EU consumer protection laws, you have the statutory right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receiving your item without giving any reason (Statutory Right of Withdrawal). Our standard policy and refund process fully comply with these regulations. As stated in Section 3, the customer remains responsible for all international return shipping costs back to Japan.
