Product History
When did these crafts start to craft?:200 years ago / 1834AD / Edo period in Japan
Edo faceting (Called Edo kiriko) is a glass craft made in Tokyo, Japan. It is said that it was first made in the late Edo period (1834AD) by a certain vidro wholesaler, who worked on the surface of glass. In 1881, an English cut glass engineer, Emanuel Hoptman, taught the technique of English cut glass, which was fused into the Edo faceting technique.
